Wheelofnames is a collection of free online random-selection tools designed to make simple choices easier. Spin a wheel, pick a random name, create teams or groups, draw raffle or giveaway winners, or choose numbers, letters, countries, animals, drawing ideas and meal ideas.
What Is Wheelofnames?
Wheelofnames provides online tools for random selection. The homepage contains the primary Wheel of Names experience, where you can prepare a list and spin to select a name or choice. Specialist tools provide workflows for different selection tasks.
What Can You Do With Wheelofnames?
Choose names or general options, make a low-stakes decision or a Yes/No selection, create teams or groups, or draw raffle and giveaway winners from an eligible list. Number, letter and themed wheels cover numbers, letters, countries and animals, while other presets offer drawing and meal ideas.
For general choices, try Random Wheel. Use Decision Wheel for several acceptable options, or Team Picker to create teams. Choose the tool that fits your task.
How Our Random Selection Works
The verified wheel engine selects from eligible enabled entries using Web Crypto’s getRandomValues. It uses rejection sampling to avoid modulo bias and has no Math.random selection fallback. The winner is selected before the visual spin; the animation presents that already-selected result.

Fairness, Duplicates and Random Results
In standard equal-weight wheel setups, eligible entries represented once have equal mathematical chances. Duplicate labels can exist as separate entries with unique IDs, so repeated labels can increase their combined probability.
When previous winners remain eligible, separate spins can select the same entry again. Randomness does not guarantee alternating results or an evenly distributed sequence over a small number of spins.
Privacy and Browser Storage
Relevant Wheelofnames tools can save entries, settings and/or result history in browser-local storage. This saved state is tied to the same browser, device and site origin. The current tools do not provide an account or cloud-sync system for that saved state.
Browser settings and storage availability can affect persistence. If storage is unavailable, tools can continue with session-only changes. Detailed site data handling is described in the Privacy Policy.
Our Approach to Useful Tools and Content
Our aim is to provide clear instructions, practical examples and transparent limitations. Tool descriptions should match actual product behavior and help you choose a suitable tool.
Informational guides, knowledge articles and use cases explain workflows and limitations, while tool pages focus on the selection task itself.
Important Limitations
Wheelofnames performs random selection among supplied eligible choices. It does not determine the objectively best option or replace judgment for health, safety, legal, major financial, emergency or other consequential decisions.
Raffle or giveaway selection does not itself establish legal or platform compliance. These tools do not automatically import or verify social-platform participants. Users are responsible for preparing suitable, eligible choices and applying the relevant rules.
