What Is a Number Wheel?
A Number Wheel is a random number picker that selects one eligible entry from your numbers. You can supply a custom list or generate a continuous range, then press Spin to reveal a selected number.
Enabled entries form the wheel segments. The pointer and result panel identify the same selected entry when the spin finishes. The original preset is 1–100; your saved browser state may contain a different list.
How to Use the Number Wheel
Generate a range or add your own numbers, then press Spin. Both workflows use the same existing wheel and entry list.
Method A: Generate a range
Set Minimum and Maximum in the range controls, then use Generate Wheel. A quick preset creates 1–10, 1–20, 1–50 or 1–100.
Method B: Add your own numbers
Edit the entry labels, add numbers individually, or paste a list with one entry per line. Enable only the entries you want included.

Zero and negative integers are supported. Minimum −3 and Maximum 3 generate −3, −2, −1, 0, 1, 2, 3. Equal endpoints work too: Minimum 7 and Maximum 7 generate a single 7 entry.
Check the range before generating. Use whole integers between −1,000,000 and 1,000,000, with Minimum no greater than Maximum and at most 500 generated entries. Empty, malformed or decimal inputs, a reversed range or an oversized range produce an error; the previous wheel remains intact.
Generate Wheel replaces the current entry list with the requested range. Edit or add custom numbers afterward if needed. Above 40 enabled entries, wheel labels are hidden to keep the display readable; the entry list and result still identify the numbers.

Choose Your Own Numbers
Your numbers do not need to be consecutive. Use a custom set such as 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, or add zero and negative numbers through the normal entry editor.
You can edit, add, paste, delete or disable entries, and duplicate labels are allowed. The shared entry editor also accepts text labels; whole-integer validation applies to generated ranges, not to every manually entered label.

What Can You Use a Random Number Wheel For?
Use a random number wheel when your activity already has numbered options: classroom prompts, students or participants, question numbers, game turns, exercise or challenge numbers, and other casual picks.
For an order without reusing the selected entry, remove each result before the next spin. Check the eligible pool first so its numbers match your real list. To pick a person by name instead, use the Wheel of Names.
How Does the Number Wheel Pick a Number?
The engine selects an enabled entry using random values from your browser’s Web Crypto API before the wheel starts moving. Rejection sampling avoids an uneven mapping from those values to entry positions.

The selected number determines the final rotation. Animation brings its segment to the pointer and reveals the same number in the result panel. If secure random values are unavailable, no winner is selected and the tool reports an error.
Does Every Number Have an Equal Chance?
When every enabled number appears once, each number has the same chance. Complete ranges 1–10, 1–20, 1–50 and 1–100 contain 10, 20, 50 and 100 eligible entries, giving 10%, 5%, 2% and 1% per number respectively.

Each enabled entry receives one equal chance. Disabled entries are excluded, and the current eligible pool determines the probabilities. Editing a generated range can change its entry count, so do not assume the original range odds still apply after changes.
What Happens If the Same Number Appears Twice?
Duplicate numbers count as separate eligible entries. With 1, 2, 3, 4, every entry has 25%. With 1, 1, 2, 3, number 1 has 50%, while numbers 2 and 3 each have 25%.

Each duplicate has its own entry ID and equal chance. Repeated labels increase that displayed number’s combined chance; this is not a dedicated weighting control.
Can the Same Number Be Picked Again?
Yes. If an entry displaying the selected number stays in the eligible pool, it can be selected again on a later spin. Random selection does not require results to alternate.
The selection logic does not use previous result history to choose the next entry. With the same pool still enabled, an earlier result does not make another number “due.” Remove Winner changes the pool, which is a separate reason the next-spin odds can change.
Can You Remove a Number and Spin Again?
Yes. Remove Winner removes the selected entry by its unique ID before the next spin. It does not remove every entry with the same displayed number or erase that result from history.
If two entries both display 7 and one selected entry is removed, the other 7 can remain. Spin Again keeps the current entries. If no entries remain enabled, add or enable a number, generate a valid range, or Reset before spinning.
Does the Number Wheel Save My Numbers?
Where browser storage is available, entries, settings, range endpoints and the latest 100 results persist locally in the same browser/device. The tool uses localStorage; this is not account or cloud saving, cross-device sync or a shareable saved wheel.
Clearing site data or browser restrictions can remove or prevent saved state. If storage is unavailable, changes work for the current page session. Reset restores the original 1–100 entries, endpoints and settings, and clears history.
Saved endpoints describe the last generated range. If you edit its entries afterward, check the current list rather than assuming it still contains every number in that range.

A traditional random number generator often outputs a number directly from its configured range. This Number Wheel uses eligible entries, selects one, and visually reveals it with an animated wheel.
Choose the presentation that fits your activity. A wheel is not inherently more random or fair than every other generator; the selection method and configuration matter.
