What Is a Raffle Picker?
A raffle picker is a tool that randomly selects a winner or winners from raffle entries supplied by the organizer. This raffle name picker works with a manually entered list of names, ticket labels or other short text entries.
It draws from the eligible entries you provide. It does not collect social comments, import platform entries or verify who owns a ticket.
How to Use the Raffle Picker
Add or paste your raffle entries, choose the number of winners and repeat policy, then press Draw Winners. Read the selected results and check the entry details if labels are repeated.
- Add raffle entriesUse Add or Add pasted entries, one label per line.
- Set the drawChoose Number of winners (1–50) and Allow previous winners in future draws.
- Draw WinnersRun a selection from the currently eligible entries.
- Review and draw againRead or copy winners, review Previous Winners, or use Draw Again.
Celebration on controls an optional decorative flourish. Results are accessible text, and the celebration is skipped when reduced motion is preferred. Copy Winner or Copy Winners copies plain text.
Add Names, Entries or Ticket Numbers
You can enter names, participant labels, ticket numbers, entry IDs or other short raffle labels. The editor accepts arbitrary text; numeric labels remain text rather than a generated number range.
- A101
- A102
- A103
- 104
These are labels you might supply, not issued or ownership-verified tickets.
Use Add for one entrant or Add pasted entries for a list with one label per line. You can keep up to 500 entries, including disabled ones, with up to 200 characters per label. Empty labels are rejected and whitespace is normalized.
Unchecking an entry excludes it without deletion. Duplicate labels remain separate records with distinct stable IDs; names and ticket ownership are not checked against an external register.
Choose How Many Winners to Pick
Number of winners (1–50) accepts a whole number from 1 to 50, limited by the current eligible-entry count. Choose 1 for a single winner or a larger count for a multi-winner draw.
One Winner vs Multiple Winners
One winner
100 eligible entries → Pick 1 → 1 selected entry
Multiple winners
100 eligible entries → Pick 3 → 3 selected entries
If you request more winners than eligible entries, the draw reports an error and records no new winners. Lower the count or change eligibility. Previous-winner exclusions can make the eligible pool smaller than the enabled list. The original sample configuration starts with 3 winners.
How Does the Raffle Picker Choose Winners?
The engine builds a pool of enabled entries allowed by the repeat policy, then samples distinct entry IDs at random. The results display the labels belonging to those IDs.
How Raffle Picker Works
- EntriesUse the manual enabled list.
- Choose Winner CountSet how many eligible IDs to select.
- Set Repeat PolicyDecide whether earlier winners stay eligible.
- Random SelectionSample distinct IDs using Web Crypto values.
- Winner(s)Read the results and recorded draw.
The Multi-Winner Picker Engine uses partial Fisher–Yates sampling without replacement within the draw. Browser Web Crypto supplies random values; rejection sampling avoids an uneven mapping to eligible positions. No insecure random fallback is used.
Selection and history are recorded before the decorative reveal. If secure randomness is unavailable or selection fails, an error is shown and no new draw is recorded. This explains the implementation, not a certification or guarantee of fairness.
Can the Same Entry Win More Than Once?
The same unique entry ID never wins twice within one draw. Across subsequent draws, eligibility depends on Allow previous winners in future draws.
Repeats off: current entry IDs that have won are excluded from later draws. Repeats on: enabled previous winners can be selected again on a later draw; IDs remain unique within each draw.
The original setting is off. Clear History clears the previous-winner ledger and latest results while keeping entries and settings; Reset restores the original list and settings and clears all draw history and exclusions. A matching label on another ID is a separate entry and can still win.
What Happens If the Same Name Is Entered Twice?
The name remains on two separate entries, each with its own ID and chance when eligible. Duplicate text is not merged automatically and does not identify one unique person.
Duplicate Entries
- Alex · entry A
- Alex · entry B
- Jordan · entry C
- Sam · entry D
Four distinct records
Alex appears twice, with two different IDs. Repeated text does not merge automatically.
One-winner example
Alex: 2 of 4 = 50%
Jordan: 1 of 4 = 25%
Sam: 1 of 4 = 25%
With Alex, Alex, Jordan, Sam all enabled and eligible for one winner, Alex-labelled entries represent 2 of 4 chances (50%). Jordan and Sam each represent 1 of 4 (25%). These percentages apply to that one-winner pool, not a claim about every multi-winner draw.
In a multi-winner draw, two Alex-labelled entries can both win because their IDs differ. Use distinguishing labels if you need to recognize separate people or tickets. There is no dedicated weighting setting.
Can You Draw More Winners?
Yes. Draw Again runs another selection using the current winner count, repeat preference and eligible entries. It adds a new history record and replaces the latest displayed draw.
With repeats off, earlier winning IDs are excluded. With repeats on, enabled earlier winners remain eligible. Previous Winners shows the latest 50 draws; the current-entry exclusion ledger continues to remember winning IDs even when an older draw leaves that visible history.
There is no Remove Winner action. Exclusion across draws follows the repeat policy. You can Delete or disable an entry in the entrant list. If no eligible entries remain, add or enable eligible entries, allow previous winners, or use Clear History or Reset as appropriate.
Can You Remove or Edit Raffle Entries?
Yes. Add, edit, Delete, paste entries, use Clear entrants or uncheck an entrant to disable it. The editor uses pages of 25 entries, with Previous entries and Next entries controls.
List edits clear the latest result display while retaining draw history. Editing a label keeps its ID and any winning-ID exclusion; historical winner labels remain as recorded at the time. Deleting an entry removes that ID from the current exclusion ledger but keeps its past history. Adding the same label with a new ID creates a new entry, not the old ID.
Changing the winner count or repeat preference clears the latest display while retaining history. Reset restores the original ten sample names and settings: 3 winners, previous winners disallowed and celebration on. It clears latest results, history and exclusions.
Does the Raffle Picker Save My Entries and Winners?
Where browser storage is available, localStorage saves entries, draw settings, the latest result reference, the latest 50 draw records and the current-entry winning-ID ledger in the same browser/device/origin.
The saved state contains entries, settings, history, wonIds and latestDrawId, with a version and configuration fingerprint. Draw records retain a draw ID, timestamp, winner entry IDs, recorded labels and order. The separate ledger protects previous-winner exclusions when visible history is truncated.
This is not account storage, cloud sync, cross-device storage, permanent public records or an auditable draw record. Browser data clearing can remove it. When storage is unavailable, state lasts for the current page session only. Reset restores defaults and clears history/exclusions, then saves that reset state where possible.

Raffle Picker vs Giveaway Picker
Raffle Picker focuses on raffle-style entries, tickets or names and drawing winners. For giveaway or contest-focused selection, use the Giveaway Picker.
Both share the Multi-Winner Picker Engine; this distinction is about the activity and wording, not different randomness technology. Neither comparison promises platform imports or entry verification.
Raffle Picker vs Giveaway Picker vs Wheel of Names
Raffle Picker
Draw raffle winner(s) from entered raffle entries.
Giveaway Picker
Choose winner(s) for giveaway-focused use.
Wheel of Names
Spin a visual wheel to select one result/name.
Raffle Picker vs Random Name Picker
Raffle Picker provides raffle-focused selections with one or multiple winners per draw. The Wheel of Names offers general one-result name selection through a visual wheel.
If you searched for a raffle picker wheel, this tool handles raffle drawing with a list-based picker. It does not spin a wheel. Choose the wheel when visual one-at-a-time selection fits your activity.
Raffle Picker Examples
These are configurations and conditional probability examples, not fabricated winning names or live results.
100 eligible entries / pick 1
One selected entry. Each eligible ID has 1 of 100 chances in that one-winner draw.
100 eligible entries / pick 3
Three unique selected entry IDs within that draw; labels can repeat on different IDs.
Ticket-label list
A101 / A102 / A103 are manually supplied labels, not verified ticket records.
Duplicate-label pool
Eligible Alex, Alex, Jordan, Sam gives Alex-labelled entries 2 of 4 chances for one winner.
Another draw, repeats off
Previously winning current IDs leave the eligible pool; check the eligible count before drawing again.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a raffle picker?
A raffle picker draws winner entries from a list you supply. This tool accepts manual names, participant labels or ticket labels and can pick one or multiple winners.
How does the Raffle Picker choose a winner?
It filters eligible enabled entry IDs, then uses partial Fisher–Yates sampling with Web Crypto random values and rejection sampling. The selected IDs determine the results before celebration.
Can I pick multiple raffle winners?
Yes. Choose a whole number from 1 to 50, no more than the number of eligible entries. IDs do not repeat within one draw.
Can the same entry win more than once?
Never twice within a single draw. Across later draws, previous winning IDs are excluded when Allow previous winners in future draws is off; enabling it makes enabled previous winners eligible again.
What happens if I enter the same name twice?
The labels stay as two distinct entries with separate IDs. Both can win. For one winner from eligible Alex, Alex, Jordan, Sam, the Alex-labelled entries have 2 of 4 chances, or 50%.
Can I use raffle ticket numbers instead of names?
Yes. Numeric labels or labels such as A101 are accepted as text. The picker does not verify ticket ownership, issue tickets or validate entries against a real-world raffle.
How many raffle entries can I add?
Up to 500 total entries, including disabled ones, with up to 200 characters per label. Paste one entry per line.
Can I draw another winner?
Yes. Draw Again uses the current settings and eligible pool. Each draw adds to history and becomes the latest result; prior-winner eligibility follows the repeat setting.
Does the Raffle Picker save my entries and winners?
Where localStorage works, entries, settings, the latest result reference, the latest 50 draws and a current-entry winning-ID ledger persist in the same browser/device/origin. This is not account or cloud storage.
Is the Raffle Picker free to use?
Yes. You can use the picker on this page without a paid account. Supply the entries and choose the draw settings; there is no automatic social-platform import.
